FFA & Agriscience

Sunshine Bible Academy is the only Christian school in South Dakota with our own FFA chapter. Our agriscience program combines hands-on agricultural education with Christ-centered character development.

FFA Chapter

A One-of-a-Kind FFA Chapter at a Christian School

Sunshine Bible Academy is proud to be the only Christian school in South Dakota with our own FFA chapter. Our students compete at the district and state level in livestock judging, agribusiness, and agricultural mechanics — gaining real-world skills and leadership experience that sets them apart.

Whether a student plans to pursue agriculture professionally or simply wants to develop a strong work ethic and an appreciation for God’s creation, the FFA program provides a foundation that lasts a lifetime.

Agriscience Curriculum

Hands-On Learning, Real-World Skills

Agriscience is a core part of our academic curriculum. Students don’t just learn from a textbook — they work with real animals and real equipment on the SBA campus.

Animal Science

Students study animal nutrition, health, reproduction, and management. Hands-on experience with SBA’s own livestock gives students practical skills they can apply immediately.

Agribusiness & Marketing

Learn the business side of agriculture including farm economics, commodity markets, record keeping, and the entrepreneurial skills needed to run a successful agricultural operation.

Natural Resources & Plant Science

Explore plant biology, soil science, crop management, and natural resource conservation. Students learn stewardship of God’s creation through both classroom study and fieldwork.

Competition & Leadership

Competing and Leading at the State Level

SBA FFA members compete in district and state Career Development Events including livestock judging, agribusiness management, and agricultural mechanics. These competitions develop critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork — skills that serve students well beyond the show ring.

FFA also develops leadership through chapter officer roles, community service projects, and the Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program, where students design and manage their own agriculture-related projects.
