Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are exploring Sunshine Bible Academy for the first time or preparing to enroll, here are answers to the questions families ask most often.

Where is Sunshine Bible Academy located?

SBA is located in Miller, South Dakota, approximately 150 miles west of Sioux Falls. Our campus sits in a safe, small-town setting that gives students the freedom to focus on learning and growing in their faith without the distractions of a larger city.

What grades does SBA serve?

Sunshine Bible Academy serves students in grades 6 through 12. Our middle school and high school programs are designed to provide a seamless educational experience grounded in academic excellence and Biblical truth.

Is SBA accredited?

Yes. Sunshine Bible Academy is fully accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). Our accreditation ensures that SBA meets rigorous standards for academic quality, faculty qualifications, and student outcomes.

What denomination is SBA?

Sunshine Bible Academy is non-denominational. We welcome students and families from a wide variety of church backgrounds who share a desire for Christ-centered education. Our focus is on the core truths of Scripture rather than any single denominational tradition.

What are the boarding options?

SBA offers both 5-day boarding at $12,575 per year and 7-day boarding at $13,800 per year. Day students who live in the Miller area are also welcome to attend. Our boarding students live in supervised dorms and become part of a close-knit campus community where lasting friendships and spiritual growth go hand in hand.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. Tuition assistance is available and can cover up to 50% of tuition costs. SBA also participates in South Dakota Partners in Education, a state program that allows individuals and businesses to receive a tax credit for contributions to qualifying scholarship organizations. Our admissions office can walk you through every option to make an SBA education financially attainable for your family.

What extracurricular activities are offered?

SBA offers a wide range of activities including athletics (football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, cross country, and rodeo), fine arts (music and drama), and FFA. In fact, SBA is home to the only FFA chapter at a non-public school in South Dakota. Students can also participate in vocational programs, dual credit courses, and campus ministry opportunities.

What makes SBA unique?

Sunshine Bible Academy combines a Biblical worldview education with small class sizes, a family-like boarding community, and hands-on vocational programs you will not find at most schools. Students can earn welding certifications, gain experience in building trades, and participate in our livestock and agriscience programs. Dual credit opportunities allow students to begin earning college credit while still in high school. All of this takes place in a Christ-centered environment where every student is known and valued.
