Doctrinal Statement

Sunshine Bible Academy is a non-denominational Christian school united by the essential truths of Scripture. The following doctrinal statement reflects the foundational beliefs upon which every aspect of our ministry is built.

Article I

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit through human authors. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and final revelation of God’s will for salvation and the supreme and sufficient authority for all matters of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7-11)

Article II

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each possessing the same nature, attributes, and perfection. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinite in power, wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, and love. He is worthy of all honor, trust, and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1; Psalm 145:3)

Article III

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is very God of very God, who took on human nature through His miraculous virgin birth. He lived a sinless life, performed mighty miracles, and offered Himself as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for the sins of mankind through His death on the cross. He arose bodily from the grave on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father as our Advocate and High Priest. He will return personally and visibly in power and glory. (John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25)

Article IV

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, seals, and baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ at the moment of salvation. He illuminates Scripture, guides believers into all truth, and empowers them for godly living and Christian service. The Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts upon believers for the building up of the Church. (John 16:8-11; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:13; John 14:26; Galatians 5:22-25)

Article V

Man

We believe that man was created by God in His own image, possessing dignity and value as the crown of creation. Through the voluntary disobedience of Adam, sin entered the human race, resulting in both physical and spiritual death for all people. Every person is born with a sinful nature and is incapable of reaching God on the basis of personal merit or effort. Apart from the grace of God, man is hopelessly lost and separated from God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3; Isaiah 64:6)

Article VI

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and not by human works or merit. Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross made full atonement for sin. All who place their trust in Him are justified, forgiven, and made new creatures in Christ. We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and are eternally secure in their salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 10:28-29; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

Article VII

The Church

We believe that the universal Church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of all who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. The local church is an assembly of baptized believers who gather for worship, instruction, fellowship, and the administration of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Each local church is autonomous under the lordship of Christ and is called to carry out the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 2:41-47; Matthew 28:18-20)

Article VIII

Christian Living

We believe that every believer is called to live a life that honors God, set apart from sin and devoted to Christ. Through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, believers grow in holiness, knowledge, and Christlike character. The Christian life is marked by obedience to God’s Word, faithful prayer, active service, love for one another, and a commitment to personal integrity. We believe that every area of life — including education — should be brought under the lordship of Christ. (Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-25; Colossians 3:17; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 2 Peter 3:18)

Article IX

Future Things

We believe in the personal, bodily, and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost — the saved to everlasting life and joy in the presence of God, and the lost to everlasting judgment and separation from God. We believe that God will bring all things to their appointed consummation in Christ, establishing a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. This blessed hope motivates us to faithful living and joyful proclamation of the Gospel. (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:13; Titus 2:13)

All faculty, staff, and board members of Sunshine Bible Academy affirm this doctrinal statement as a condition of service. Our educational ministry is rooted in these truths, woven through every subject, every activity, and every relationship on campus.
